It is always amazing how the national weather service ability to tell us what the weather is going to be is so ..well just like almost anything else the national government touches. They employ thousands of people with our tax money who do nothing but study the weather all their lives and yet they:
1) can not predict a thunderstorm. Along the coast the forecast is always 30-40% chance of thunderstorms in the summer. Talk about CYA.
2) if they ever tell you a tropical storm/ hurricane is coming your way and there is 2-3 days leeway you can put your money it is going further north up the coast.
We just watched Ernesto slide by..for which we are thankful they originally said it was coming toward us.
